Appointments
Appointments System
Appointments may be made by telephoning Scunthorpe 843375 for Ashby Road, or Scunthorpe 292011 for the Ironstone Centre or by calling at either surgery. If you cannot keep an appointment, please inform us as soon as possible as this will assist in over-subscribed situations.
It is not always necessary for you to be seen by a doctor. Please give information clearly to the receptionist when requesting an appointment and she will be able to place you with the most appropriate clinician.
You can now view and book available doctor’s appointments online up to two weeks in advance. Please note you will only be able to book one appointment at a time. You can also cancel appointments up to two hours before the scheduled appointment time. All you need to do to initiate using the online services is to call into the surgery bringing with you photographic proof of ID (i.e. passport) and speak to a member of staff who will issue you your online user name and password. Then you can start using the systmonline services!
Extended Access
We are open between 08.00-17.00 every Saturday for those who cannot get to the surgery during the week. It is reserved for consultations only and is strictly by appointment.
Extended Access to Primary Medical Services
Evening and weekend appointments now available
From 1st October 2018 everyone in England will benefit from access to general practice appointments in the evenings and weekends at a time that is most convenient to them. This is part of a national drive to help improve access to general practice and get the best possible outcomes for patients. Further information is available at https://www.england.nhs.uk/gp/gpfv/redesign/improving-access/.
Patients who are registered at this practice can now book an appointment to see a range of clinicians including GPs and nurses on weekday evenings (after 6.30pm) or at the weekends (on Saturday and Sunday). Appointments will take place at a range of NHS settings across North Lincolnshire. Talk to the practice receptionist to discuss an appointment.
Home Visits
Please make every effort to attend surgery as we can offer more comprehensive care here for examination and treatment. Priority is always given to urgent cases.
If you need a home visit please telephone Scunthorpe 843375 (before 10.00am if possible) giving as much information as you can to the receptionist as this allows the doctor to assess the urgency of the visit.
Telephone Advice
The doctors and nursing staff are available to speak with patients via the telephone at the end of morning and afternoon surgery. Patients should telephone the surgery when the receptionist will take a brief description of the problem and the urgency. If the request is non-urgent, the patient will then be requested to call back at the end of surgery when the doctor or nurse will be available to take the call and offer advice. Should the request be urgent, either the doctor or the nurse will be requested to ring the patient back as soon as possible.
If you need to contact a doctor urgently between the hours of 12:00 and 13:30 and 18:00 – 18:30 you should ring the surgery telephone number and you will be given the emergency number to ring to contact a doctor.
Training Practice
We are a training practice training new GP's. We have new GP Registrars attached to our practice every six/twelve months. These are qualified doctors who wish to move into the General Practitioner field. Occasionally they will ask your permission to video your consultation for training purposes. Dr Pavan Tandon and Dr Hardik Gandhi are GP Trainers, and closely supervise their work. Our practice also has a rotational intake of other Student doctors to whom we assist with relevant training requirements. Please help support their training so we will have more good doctors for the future.
